St. Katharine House Hospice, Banbury, Oxfordshire

St Katharine House Hospice is a peaceful place open to everyone. The theme for the window is taken from Corinthians 13:7 “Love bears all things” and explores ideas about growth, release and letting go.

The lower section of the window is filled with colourful allium heads, leaves and seeds. Red poppies suggest the pain of release. The larger textured opal and blue seed head spirals out and across the panel, letting go.

The chapel overlooks the hospice gardens. My design brings the gardens indoors and reminds us that we are all part of nature.

Extensive acid etching has been used to create the poppy heads and the blue textures around the top of the panel. The details in the allium heads have been painted.

Thank you so much for the beautiful panel in the chapel...it greatly improves the space, is beautiful and uplifting and hopeful... - Revd. Tess Ward
