Commissions

The designs Nicola creates for church commissions are abstract in style. She uses colour, light and symbolism to express spiritual concepts. The glass is often richly painted to create layers of pattern and texture. Etching and sandblasting are used for softer lighter effects.

For smaller projects, domestic and public Nicola will explore her love of pattern and colour to create contemporary designs. Each commission is site specific and responds to the client’s brief.

As a Fellow of the British Society of Master Glass Painters Nicola supports the Society’s opposition to competitions, where several artists are invited to produce comprehensive design work, often for no fee. If you wish to commission artwork you are advised to find an artist who’s style you like and work with them to create a beautiful piece of stained glass.
