Seven artists were commissioned to produce decorative panels to surround the central quadrangle of a new school building. Each artist was given two sets of six windows for two classrooms.

I produced a series of designs around the theme "Seascape and Landscape". Each panel has one decorative feature and a simple white opalescent border. The images were created with acid etching, sandblasting and paintwork.

The blue bird and the sea shell have both been made in a similar way. Both were cut from thick antique glass. The glass was sandblasted first to cut through the colour and reveal the clear glass underneath. The softer rougher textures were achieved by acid etching the glass several times to break down the glass surface and make variations in tone and texture.

Other images include a bright red lady bird with black spots, two green and gold fish, a seahorse and a fern leaf.
